What is ElysianIsland?

Elyse Burns-Hill is the founder of ElysianIsland; an organisation dedicated to Earth’s oceans.  We focus primarily on scuba diving as that is currently the most accessible way for most people to interact with our under water world.  We look at what scuba is, how to dive, equipment guides and reviews, snorkelling, safety, places to dive and marine life amongst other things.  In the future, we would like to extend the site to cover oceanography and meteorology, the ocean environment and marine biology and zoology.

What’s in a Name?

The name ElysianIsland stemmed from the original phrase of Elysian Fields, meaning paradise.  Elyse has lived on islands most of her life (UK, Guernsey, Malta), so as a combination of that, and as the organisation centres around the sea, changing fields for island seemed appropriate.
